Shreveport Dog Park
According to weather predictions, the Red River is going to rise this Saturday, March 21 and cause flooding along the river. As a precaution, the Dog Park and Hamel’s Park will be closed on Saturday night and remain locked until further notice.
Located at the Stoner Boat Launch, this almost 4 acre area provides a park for people, and their dogs, with seating and a scenic overlook of the river. Separate large and small dog sides are included.
The dog park enhances the activities provided on the riverfront that include a skate board park, disk golf park, marina/boat launch, walking and biking trails.

The park is located on Clyde Fant Parkway at Stoner Avenue 2 miles south of downtown on the Red River, inside of the Stoner Boat Launch Facility, 857 East Stoner, Shreveport, Louisiana 71101.
The dog park is open 7 days a week during the daylight hours that may vary depending on Daylight Saving's Time. Summer hours are 5 AM -10 PM. The park is closed Monday mornings for maintenance.
Shreveport Dog Park Rules
This park is an off-leash dog park for dogs, their attendants and those accompanying them; no other use or animals allowed
No more than 2 dogs per attendant
Attendant must be 18 years of age or older
Dogs must wear collars with current vaccination tags visible
Dogs shall be free of contagious or infectious diseases, be parasite free and have no visible wounds or injuries
Dogs must be on leash when outside of the park
While inside park, attendant must be in possession of leash, have visual and voice control of dogs at all times
No unattended dogs
Dogs engaged in excessive barking, aggressive behavior and/or fighting must be removed
No aggressive dogs
No dogs under the age of 4 months
No female dogs in heat
No dog toys, balls, Frisbees, etc. in enclosed park area
All dog waste must be disposed of properly
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult
No running, chasing or antagonizing dogs
No alcohol, smoking or drugs
No bicycles, roller blades/skates, skateboards or similar wheeled equipment
No motorized vehicles or devices, except those for the disabled
No glass bottles or breakable containers
No food of any type, human or dog
No organized events without permit (318-673-5100)
No use of the park to conduct business, professional or otherwise
Users of the dog park shall comply with all rules and regulations governing the use of the facility. The owner/attendant is responsible for and liable for all injuries and damages caused by their dog(s).
Use of the dog park shall constitute the implied consent of the dog owner/attendant to all conditions of the ordinance and shall constitute a waiver of liability to the City of Shreveport, Parish of Caddo, their officers and employees. As such, users of the dog park agree and undertake to protect, indemnify, defend and hold the City, Parish of Caddo, their officers and employees harmless for any injury or damage caused by or to their dog(s) during any time that said dog(s) is unleased at the facility.

Violations are punishable by fines up to $500 and/or imprisonment up to 60 days
