Double elimination, with a single elimination championship game; no "If" game. Games start Friday evening through Saturday; Championship games are played on Sunday.

SPAR Summer Midnight Basketball gives youth/young adults the opportunity to compete and meet in a supervised safe environment during the summer. Each gym site will be fully staff with SPAR gym supervisors and security provided by Shreveport Police Department. Teams will be "mandated" to attend a thirty (30) minute workshop presentation (2-3 times per week) prior to their scheduled game. Presentations will be held by local agencies/organizations addressing current social issues that hinder today's youth.

AAU is one of the largest non-profit volunteer sports organizations in the United States. A multi-sport organization, the AAU is dedicated exclusively to the promotion and development of amateur sports and physical fitness programs.

SAAU is for teams in Louisiana and Mississippi.
